Boomtown Rollers are recruiting!!

recruitment fresh meatBoomtown Rollers are hosting a recruitment evening on Tuesday 18th October from 8.30-10pm at Ballyfermot Leisure center, Dublin.

This open skate event is a great opportunity to put on a pair of skates, learn more about Roller Derby and meet the league.

Whether you are interested in playing competitive Roller Derby, becoming a referee or joing our highly valued non-skating officials crew, then this is your chance for taking those first steps in acheving your goals!

This recruitment is open to everyone aged 18 +

You don’t need any previous experience as our fantastic coaches will be at hand to help you on your journey with Boomtown. We will have skates and gear to loan out for a 5€ charge but if you have your own we much appreciate if you bring it.

Culture Night 2016

join boomtown rollers dublin roller derbyAs part of Culture Night 2016 Boomtown Rollers Dublin will be giving you a chance to put on a pair of skates and try out Roller Derby. We will be giving live demonstrations off the sport, show videoclips and provide information of how the game works and how to get involved, on or off skates. We will have skates and gear to loan out for anyone who wants to try.

There will also be a photo exhibition of roller derby culture and sport by Derby Souls, Al Mcaleese and 2nd Shooter with possibility to buy some of the art work.

Boomtown Showdown – Open Scrimmage in Dublin

Boomtown Showdown scrimmage dublin Roller derbyBoomtown Rollers are excited to be hosting an open scrimmage on September 3rd!

This scrimmage is open to women, trans* and non-binary skaters for whom women’s flat track roller derby is the version of roller derby they most closely associate with. The scrimmage will be for mixed levels but all participating skaters need to have passed Minimum Skills and 18+. All are very welcome to ref, NSO or bench. Continue reading
